Iterations
How did the app change during the 6 months period?
Usability Testing
A number of iterations were made to the app over the course of the academic year. The usability testing we conducted was important in guiding any iterations that should be made to improve the apps quality and usability.

The color scheme was a key issue raised by the users, that it was too dull, dark and uninviting. The group unanimously agreed on a brighter, vivacious color scheme.

Journal Page
The Journal page is a salient feature of the app; It is the source of organization and data for the progress and analytics pages.

Final Journal Page:

Analytics
Usability testing clarified to the team that the analytics page was one of the most valued features of the app.

Progress Section

The progress section is where users can track their progress month by month. They can view the number of badges they have received here.

The team decided to merge pages here which were initially supposed to be stand alone pages. We merged the calendar idea and the badges idea to form a section which provides users with a clear indication as to how they're progressing in terms of their productivity.
Before:
Academic calendar added to enable users to visibly track their progress with badges

After:
The added white space behind the calendar makes it cohesive with the rest of the app.

Logo Development
The team wanted to incorporate a brain into the design of the logo, to symbolize a growth mindset. Having a growth mindset is the belief that one can develop their talents through hard work, discipline and good strategies. We believe this app can facilitate and promote a growth mindset, ultimately helping students to achieve their academic goals. The journal is emblematic of organization, and clearly lets the user know the purpose of the app.
